Over the past few months, we have been busy carrying out baseline vegetation surveys as part of our Planting the Seed Program (PtS), which we run in partnership with Ecology and Restoration Australia (ERA).
ERA botanist Ben helped us to identify the existing vegetation at six sites stretching from coastal vegetation in Mentone, south-east Melbourne, to roadside vegetation at Bullarto, west of Melbourne. Here’s some photos of the plants that we found. A big thanks to Ben for happily sharing his plant expertise with us!
We also recently completed our PtS seed collection and plant propagations field visits with all our schools. It was wonderful to meet all the students and see their enthusiasm for the natural environment. We were working with students from prep to grade 6, and it was great to see everyone getting involved in taking cuttings and potting them out. Now over to the students to keep them alive over Summer!
