We have had a busy time recently with our Planting the Seed Program planting days and cultural heritage sessions, which we run in partnership with Ecology and Restoration Australia (ERA).

We had a very successful planting day at the Mentone foreshore with students from Kilbreda College, and other busy day with students from Bullarto South Primary School, near Daylesford. Check out our before and after shots below! Thanks to all the staff and students who worked so hard on the day, and to Kingston City Council and Hepburn Shire Council for all their help. A big thanks to Junior Landcare, Port Phillip Bay Fund and Hepburn Shire Council for funding our Planting the Seed program.

Kai also ran some wonderful sessions on Indigenous cultural heritage, talking about his cultural background as well as traditional uses for plants and animals. Students had a lot of fun using traditional Aboriginal symbols to communicate their own stories.

Eco Warriors Australia is excited to announce that, in partnership with Ecology and Restoration Australia, we have received a grant for the Planting the Seed program from Banyule City Council.

ERA will help to revegetate a section of the beautiful Rosanna Parklands with help from students from Banyule Primary School. Sustainability leaders and students in Grade 3/4 will be taught how to collect native plant cuttings/seeds, propagate and care for seedlings, use native plants to revegetate sites and maintain their site post-revegetation. Students will use simple data collection tools to monitor revegetation success.

Eco Warriors Australia is excited to announce that, in partnership with Ecology and Restoration Australia, we have received a grant for the Planting the Seed program from Yarra Ranges Council.

ERA will help to revegetate a local reserve at Launching Place in the beautiful Yarra Valley with help from Grade 3/4 students at Launching Place Primary School. Students will be taught how to collect native plant cuttings/seeds, propagate and care for seedlings, use native plants to revegetate sites and maintain their site post-revegetation. Students will use simple data collection tools to monitor revegetation success.

Eco Warriors Australia is excited to announce that, in partnership with Ecology and Restoration Australia, we have received a grant for the Planting the Seed program from Murrindindi Shire Council.

ERA will help to revegetate a Land for Wildlife site located next to Buxton Primary School in Buxton. Buxton PS staff, students and the local school community have already carried out some revegetation, installed a frog pond and made some fabulous signs for the native vegetation at their Land for Wildlife area, so we will be building on their hard work.

Students from Buxton PS (prep to Year 6) will be taught how to collect native plant cuttings/seeds, propagate and care for seedlings, use native plants to revegetate sites and maintain their site post-revegetation. Students will use simple data collection tools to monitor revegetation success.

Students will use simple data collection tools to monitor revegetation success.

Eco Warriors Australia is excited to announce that, in partnership with Ecology and Restoration Australia, we have received a grant for the Planting the Seed program from Hepburn Shire Council.

ERA will help to revegetate an area of damaged roadside vegetation along Bullarto South Road, about halfway between Daylesford and Trentham.  Bullarto South Primary School is a small school so we will be working with the whole school, with students from prep to Year 6. We will teach students how to collect native plant cuttings/seeds, propagate and care for seedlings, use native plants to revegetate sites and maintain their site post-revegetation. Students will use simple data collection tools to monitor revegetation success.
