Mr Kai Lane
Kai, is a proud Yorta-Yorta Barapa-Barapa man, with connections to Dja Dja Wurrung and Wurundjeri, who is passionate about his culture and loves to share his knowledge by inspiring the next generation. Kai has worked in the ecology and restoration field for approximately four years.

Mr Taj Lane
Taj is Yorta-Yorta Barapa-Barapa man, with connections to Dja Dja Wurrung and Wurundjeri, who has worked as a First Nations Field Officer for Wetland Revival Trust for the past several years doing ecological restoration and monitoring.

Ms Laura Kirby
Laura Kirby is a Barapa-Barapa Traditional Owner and a key staff member at the North Central Catchment Management Authority (NCCMA) in Victoria, Australia. Her work focuses on integrating cultural knowledge with environmental science to manage and restore natural ecosystems in the region.

Uncle Ron Galway
Uncle Ron is a Barapa Barapa Elder with over 10 years’ experience involved with North Central CMA. Uncle Ron recently joined our Yedabila habitat pods workshops where he shared the following “I had more fun than any of the kids being able to pass on my knowledge to them – you can’t wipe the smile of my face”.

Uncle Ron Murray
Uncle Ron is a well-respected Elder who is passionate about keeping Aboriginal stories, art and culture alive through his wealth of knowledge and experience. In 2009, Uncle Ron completed his studies at RMIT on how Indigenous knowledges can combat racist attitudes in the wider community using the power of positive stories. Some of Uncle Ron’s personal highlights include performing for the Queen, Muhammad Ali, Yusam Islam and Sir Bob Geldof.

Ms Simone Haigh
Since graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Applied Science, Simone has worked for nearly two decades in the restoration of Australia’s precious wetlands. Currently working for several private clients, she is focused on continuing to apply her experience to repair much of the historical damage that has occurred.
